Insurance claim inventory

How to make a home inventory for an insurance claim

If your insurance company asks for a list of damaged, stolen, or lost belongings, start with photos and build an itemized room-by-room record. AI-Temize turns those photos into a PDF and spreadsheet you can review before sending anything to your adjuster.

1. Photograph every room

Take wide photos first, then close-ups of electronics, furniture labels, appliances, tools, collections, and anything with a make, model, serial number, or receipt.

2. Build an item list

The claim process usually needs item names, descriptions, quantities, approximate values, and supporting notes. A spreadsheet is easier to update than a handwritten list.

3. Review before sharing

AI estimates are a starting point. Correct anything you know, add receipts or comparable links where possible, and keep a copy of everything you submit.

What to include in your claim inventory

  • Room name and photo evidence
  • Item description and quantity
  • Brand, model, and serial number when visible
  • Condition notes before the loss, if known
  • Replacement cost estimate
  • Approximate age or purchase date
  • Receipt, LKQ, or comparable-source links
  • PDF and Excel copies for your records

Important limit

AI-Temize is a documentation tool, not an insurance adjuster or legal advisor. Your insurer decides claim coverage, depreciation, and settlement rules. Use the report as organized evidence and work with your adjuster, agent, or public adjuster when needed.
